I know what you are thinking, another claim to beautiful skin—you have tried all of the celebrity endorsed and ‘top rated’ face masks, scrubs, acne cleansers and wrinkle creams at the beauty counter and haven’t noticed a difference. Well, trust me honey, you are not alone!

The problem is that the majority of these products contain toxic, under-researched chemicals, scents and perfumes that actually cause long term damage to your system, not to mention make a substantial dent in your wallet.

A Bit of History

Castor Oil is a versatile, safe and natural oil that was used for beauty preservation by Mediterranean Goddesses, Roman Empresses and Egyptian Queens, all of which were known for their striking natural beauty. The legendary Queen Cleopatra even used castor oil as part of her beauty regime!

It is the ‘miracle oil’ that does it all! It replaces your cleansers, toners and even your night time moisturizers. In fact, if you look at the products you are currently using, you will likely notice that Castor Oil is the main ingredient—so why not cut out the crap (literally!) and just use this ‘miracle’ oil as nature intended.

The Science

Aging is caused by a lack of circulation to the area; your blood flow constricts and there is a loss of nourishment to the skin, which is why we often see fine lines start to form near the gentle skin around the eyes. We want to bring more blood flow, reduce inflammation and nourish the area—that’s anti-aging 101!

Castor Oil has no negative side effects and contains important skin-nourishing nutrients like omega 6 and 9, vitamin E (a known anti-aging vitamin!), amino acids, flavonoids1 and glutathione2 which is important to keep us ‘looking young’. It is antibacterial, antioxidant, anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory, which makes it super beneficial for acne, dry, and aging skin.

Queen of the Thornes Castor Oil contains Omega 6 9 and vitamin E

The thing that places Castor Oil on the throne as the queen above others, is it is the only oil that contains ricinoleic acid. This divine component of the oil is super anti-inflammatory3, ultra moisturizing and has a molecular weight that allows it to pass through the first layer of skin (the epidermis) into the deeper layer (the dermis) where our blood and lymphatic vessels lie. This makes it the very best carrier oil for essential oils too!

As Castor Oil is an exceptional emollient and is nourishing, it also helps to alleviate dark circles, puffiness, redness and the fine lines around the eyes. It is used to enhance growth and thickness of eyebrows and eyelashes.

Of course you must always work on cultivating a healthy inner body ecosystem through nourishing foods and through digesting those foods well, and secondly by making sure that you are getting good quality, restorative deep sleep so that your body can renew… Queen of the Thrones® Castor Oil Packs and the Castor Oil Eye Compress Kit are two tools that should be staples in your practice to support this.

But your facial care routine can to be radically revamped too! Get rid of the old washes and astringents and let’s cleanse our beautiful faces with a wash that is non-drying, replenishing, redness-reducing and excellent at removing impurities.

How to do a nightly cleansing oil wash for your face using Castor Oil.

1. Use a clean face cloth.

Place a clean face cloth under warm water (hot enough to touch but not to burn).

2. Wet your face with warm water to open up your skin pores.

Place a clean face cloth under warm water (hot enough to touch but not to burn).

3. Apply Castor Oil on your face.

In the palm of your hand place some Queen of the Thrones® Castor Oil (approx.1 tsp), and gently rub it between your clean palms and blot all over your face. Try to concentrate on any areas where you may have make-up such as the eye area.

4. Let the Castor Oil permeate your skin.

Allow the moisturizing, nourishing Queen of the Thrones® Castor Oil to absorb into your skin for a minute or two.

5. Splash your face with warm water.

Splashing your face with warm water will help to pull debris out and pushes the Castor Oil into your skin.

5. Remove the excess of Castor Oil and residue.

Using the same face cloth, warm it up again, and wipe in an upward motion to remove all of the excess Castor Oil and residue.

That’s it—5 minutes and DONE!

You will notice your skin is firmer, plumper and as soft as a baby’s bottom after doing this cleanse. Unlike other cleansers where you are cautioned to ‘avoid your eye area’, castor oil is super safe and actually has health benefits for your eyes!

Throw on your Queen of the Thrones® Castor Oil Eye Compress Kit and you are now ready for bed!

Here’s our free Sleep eGuide on how Castor Oil Packs can help support a good night’s sleep!

The next morning, you’ll only need to refresh your skin with purified water.

Not all Castor Oils are the Same…

Just a reminder that not all Castor Oil is created equally—your Castor Oil should always be organic, cold-pressed and extra virgin, as well as hexane-free, 100% pure and ALWAYS packaged in a glass bottle.

Castor Oil’s unique chemical structure makes it a magnet for toxic lipophilic components of plastic such as BPA 4, slip agents 5, or UV filters 6. For this reason, please never use Castor Oil that comes in a plastic bottle, and if you have any, throw it away! Since ricinoleic acid has the ability to pass the epidermis and enter the dermis where our blood and lymph vessels lie, we definitely do not want toxins here!

So now you know that not only is Castor Oil a great addition to your pharmaceutical cabinet, it also has a well-deserved place in your beauty regime too!

We would love for you to take a picture of your face before and again in a few weeks to see if you notice a difference for yourself!
