Can Healthy Food Be Bad For You?

Heal your Food Sensitivities with the Food Empowerement Kit

Is it possible that the foods you’re eating everyday are the biggest source of poison you’re putting into your body? Perhaps you already have a gut feeling that this rings true to you.

Maybe you’ve already tested for food sensitivities, but your results said you were sensitive to absolutely everything. This left you with nothing to eat! Or perhaps you were on the other end of the scale. You’re sensitive to nothing but still unsure of what to eat because of the symptoms you’re experiencing.

What if the superfoods that you think you should be eating (because they are considered ‘super’), aren’t actually super for YOU?

What are the Cost Common Food Sensitivity Symptoms

When it comes to figuring out what foods are right for you, it’s imperative to identify them. You’ll finally break free from the suffering you’re dealing with (not just in your gut, but all over your system).

Symptoms & suffering correlated to food sensitivities can include:

  • Unpleasant periods accompanied by PMS and cramps
  • Mood swings that change without rhyme or reason
  • Depression, anxiety and panic attacks where it feels as if the world is ending
  • Extreme, debilitating fatigue where you can’t get out of bed
  • IBS, constipation, loose stools, uncomfortable bloating
  • Weight gain, thyroid problems, hormonal issues and menopausal symptoms like hot flashes and night sweats
  • Trouble falling asleep and staying asleep, insomnia
  • Joint aches and pain

And so much more… the list goes on and on and on.

If you’re struggling with any of these problems, I invite you to explore this powerful food sensitivities healing tool to improve your gut health.

Food Sensitivities – A Root Cause of Disease

From the perspective of natural holistic health, food sensitivities are often seen as the root cause of physical conditions and many mental and emotional conditions. Why?

  • Since food is something that we ingest everyday, it has the potential to be the biggest toxic substance that we consume (on purpose) causing us harm. After all, “One man’s meat is another man’s poison.” -Lucretius
  • https://drmarisol.com/irritable-bowel-syndrome-and-the-microbiome-part-2-dr-marisol/Undetected food sensitivities are a source of inflammation and stress on the body; the two MAIN causes of disease. So it’s not food sensitivities that cause disease. Rather, the stress and inflammation produced by food sensitivities that cause further issues.
  • We can create our own sensitivities by eating certain foods during TRAUMATIC experiences in our lives. The trauma doesn’t need to be one of dramatic proportions, it just needs to be traumatic to you. The body can’t digest properly when it’s stressed. So if you’re eating a lot of a certain food during a traumatic time in your life, it sits in the digestive tract longer, which increases the sensitization capacity of the food, rendering it more immunogenic and/or allergenic1.
  • We are disconnected. For many, it is due to our past traumas that have severed our body’s ability to properly feel from the waist down. The physical and spiritual elements of our bodies don’t talk anymore. So we eat food that is supposed to nourish us, but we can’t feel whether it is good or bad because of this disconnect. This may be why people with IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) often also suffer from psychiatric disease2 3.
  • Many of us have been on rounds of antibiotics or prescription medications that destroy the healthy balance of gut flora (A.K.A. our gut microbiome)4 5. This can lead to conditions like leaky gut or small intestine bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), increasing the likelihood of food sensitivities.

Superfood Diets

Most of us find ourselves sitting on what I like to call Pain Island. Here we feel unwell, confused, & are simply going through the motions. I was there for the greater part of my life.

I had odd symptoms; like a constant itchiness under my skin, especially over my belly button and abdomen area. I was bloating so bad after eating that I seriously looked pregnant. My periods were so out of whack that in my late 20s I was experiencing symptoms of menopause, like hot flashes and night sweats. On top of it all I was so chronically fatigued it became next to impossible for me to even get out of bed.

I went to multiple practitioners to find out what was wrong. Many of them instructed me to remove the most common allergens from my diet like dairy and wheat (A.K.A. gluten), and put me on a “superfood diet”. I was so thankful because I thought it was finally going to be the solution that would stop my suffering.

Queen of The Thrones Castor Oil helps you heal Food Sensitivities.

So there I was, consuming broccoli, almonds & kale — all of the “good stuff” — for months, yet I was still feeling horribly off and wrong.

The practitioners would tell me,

“Don’t worry, keep going, it’s just a normal healing crisis.”

It was a crisis alright! I didn’t feel like I was healing and I was getting all the more desperate. After going to 5 different practitioners, I got fed up and finally took matters into my own hands. I went back to school to become a naturopathic doctor & find MY answers.

I’m grateful for these hardships now. It was through my pain and confusion that I found my passion and became a naturopathic doctor.

Healthy Food can be a Food Sensitivity

Eventually I discovered my unique food sensitivities, and guess what they were? Broccoli, almonds & kale. The main foods in my ‘superfood diet’ were at the root of my ongoing health issues.

The Journey to Healing

Through my personal experience, education & clinical practice with thousands of patients, I’ve come to understand there are 3 steps in the journey to healing:

  1. Reduce the two main causative factors of disease: stress and inflammation.
  2. Reconnect the physical and the spiritual.
  3. Test for sensitivities using multiple techniques, more than simply blood tests (the validity of laboratory IgG tests is debated in the medical community6 7).

These three steps will lead you through the journey that takes us from Pain Island, across ‘Know Thyself’ waters all the way to Pleasure Island, where we feel healthy, empowered, free from food sensitivities & ready to live out our purpose. It took me a long time to get to Pleasure Island… But it was well worth it! Plus, thousands of my patients who have done the same feel this way too.

Food Empowerment Kit takes you from Pain Island to Pleasure Island

I want to give you the map and show you the shortcuts to get to Pleasure Island quickly. I want you to know what I wish I would have known all those years ago — how to test, what to do, and all of the ins and outs of navigating your personal world of food sensitivities.

The Food Empowerment Kit is the map that will help you to navigate from Pain Island where you’re feeling totally unwell in your body & simply going through to motions, to Pleasure Island, where you feel empowered, healthy & ready to live out your purpose & passion.

Why Is My Poop Green?

Picture this: It’s Christmastime and the Grinch lands in your toilet bowl, totally ruining your Christmas festivities! It causes a *gasp* and a “wtf”?!  Not everything that is red and green this time of year is a good thing!

So what gives? These monstrosities in the toilet bowl that you inspect shouldn’t be smiling back at you like the green goblin, an eerily foreboding sign of the dangers that are lurking in your daily meals. You think to yourself, what have I eaten? Green food coloring wasn’t on the menu? Could it be the green smoothie I had the other morning? Is it my intake of greens causing my poo to be green?

It can be scary seeing green monsters in the throne, but the reality is it happens every day, all around the world, and could happen to you too! The thing is, the color you see in the toilet bowl is a sign of what is going on with the #1 thing that your body produces, your poo! It got a bad wrap being called #2, but it really deserves the throne!

Read more to get in tune with the signs your body is delivering from the divine! Right in time for the new decade, where you can make a massive positive change in your life.

Is Green Poo Normal?

Green poo isn’t normal, FYI, it’s actually a sign that something may be wrong in the manufacturing plant, A.K.A. your digestive tract.

There may be 50 Shades of Poo (if you haven’t downloaded your copy, get yours now!)… but in general, if you’re healthy and well balanced, your poo should always be brown. Anything along the spectrum of the color of dirt is acceptable.

Outside of this realm, and we don’t have happy campers.

How the Digestive Factory Works to Color Your Poo

Poo gets its color from bile, which is a combination of substances that are to be eliminated out of the body. A part of it is bilirubin (produced from the breakdown of red blood cells). Bilirubin gives it its brown color, in general.

Problems with color are typically caused by problems with the gall bladder, swelling, stones blocking the opening of the duct into the intestine, and sometimes ominous masses in the intestine. Also, the fact that your stools float or sink is a sign of your gut health.

Green poop is a sign of low stomach acid

What Does it Mean When Your Poop is Green?

There is another mechanism of action that is especially important when it comes to those green poops. That is stomach acid

Stomach acid wilts green vegetables. Think of it like this, if you leave a salad sitting on the counter and it is emerged in vinegar (that is the same physiological pH as our stomach acid) you will see it wilt and turn brown. This could be a chemical transformation of chlorophyll, or simply just the acidic pH transforming the components of the green vegetable.

Either way, green poops after drinking a green smoothie is a sign of low stomach acid. Sometimes it also indicates a lack of protein in the smoothie, because protein is the signal for stomach acid to be produced.

Low stomach acid can also be caused by many factors; too much stress, low protein in your diet (thus not simulating stomach acid), lack of important nutrients such as vitamin B12 and zinc, or autoimmune reactions that affect the stomach acid-producing cells,  to simply name a few.

Green poo can be a sign of stress, low protein in your diet and lack of vitamin B12 and zinc.

What Does it Mean When Your Poop Floats?

Doctor Marisol ND., Queen of the Thrones® mission is to help people unlock their body's secret code & heal their gut.

Why should you always look in the toilet bowl?

I have a habit.  It’s a scary habit to some, but for me, I know it’s the single best thing that I can do for my health.  I look down into the black hole on a regular basis.  This black hole, in a clockwise fashion, sucks away all of my worries.  (By worries, I mean the stench that is stinking up the room sometimes, not always).

The toilet bowl, or as I like to call it, the throne, is an integral part of every single person’s life.  It is something we all have in common.  Yep, everybody poops!

I’m here to set the record straight on the question of whether stools should float or sink, and the answer is: SINK!

Floating Jewels

So do you ever question what is happening inside of you when you see floating in the bowl?  No, I’m not talking about your morning cereal.  I’m talking about the toilet bowl and the submarine that was supposed to sink but instead is floating like a steamboat?!  Choo, choo!

If the natural, healthy thing is to sink, but yours doesn’t… What gives?  Read on to find out why this might be and the easy formula to help fix it!

Is my Problem Fat Malabsorption?

When your poop floats, it’s typically a sign that you’re having issues with fat.  I don’t mean the fat on your body, rather the fat present in food that your body’s trying to digest.

Fat is so very important for your system for many different reasons.  First of all, fat isn’t bad for you!  In the 1980s fat was villainized as badly as the Joker from Batman, and very wrongly so.  Yes, unhealthy, bad fats should be avoided, but good fats are crucial for your body to function well.

Doctor Marisol ND., Queen of the Thrones® explains the relation between nutrition and digestion.

Here’s what healthy fats do for your body:

  • Fats feed all of the body’s cells and is needed for them to work properly
  • Fats help our skin look fresh and beautiful
  • Fats feed your brain and make you happy!
  • Fats trigger areas of our brain that help us to feel satisfied and “full” after a meal
  • Fats also help support our hormones, because our hormones are manufactured from fat

One of the most important jobs healthy fat has is:

It helps with transporting toxins out of the body.

Why?  Because many toxins are fat-soluble.  Toxins such as heavy metals or xenoestrogens found in plastic disrupt hormones and the immune system and so much more.

Floating Poop… What Does it Mean?

So when your poops are floaters rather than sinkers, it’s usually a sign that you are:

  1. Eating too much fat and not enough fiber to absorb it
  2. Having problems digesting and absorbing fats

Think of it like this.  In oceans, or in your sink with all of your dirty dishes, when there is an oil slick you see the oil floating on top of the water.  The poor wildlife (mostly birds) get covered in oil because they are floating on top of the water!

Should your poo sink or float?

So you know if your poop is floating, you have problems with fat, and it is even more severe if there is also an oil slick present in the toilet bowl. Also, the color of your poo is a sign of what is going on with the #1 thing that your body produces

Gallbladder Problems?

If you don’t have a gallbladder you lack bile, so floating poop will be normal for you. It is extremely difficult to properly absorb fat if you are missing yours (this is why I often caution against getting your gallbladder removed because fat is SO important to our bodies).

Turn your Floaters into Sinkers

Here are a few best practices to help you absorb your fats better and get those floaters turned into sinkers:

  1. Switch to good fats and avoid the unhealthy fats – go for coconut, olive and avocado oil more often
  2. Before you eat, make sure to have your Queen of the Thrones® Grateful Dung™ Bracelet on and do your Daily Dining practice.  Name 3 things you are grateful for to get your gut ready to digest.
  3. Wear your Queen of the Thrones® Castor Oil Pack daily to optimize your digestion, absorption, and elimination (as well as improve how your gall bladder dumps bile)

So from now on, I want you to think fat is PHAT! (how my teenager says super cool!)

You want to absorb it because it keeps you beautiful, happy, and healthy.

Do it!
